When can I rent Historic Waverly Mansion and use the event tent?

  • The annual outdoor rental season is mid-April through October 31. The event tent is included in the rental price during this time.

  • Weddings and special event rentals take priority for booking on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the outdoor rental season.

Can I rent Historic Waverly Mansion for an indoor-only meeting?

  • Yes. The indoor capacity of Historic Waverly Mansion is 40 people.

  • Historic Waverly Mansion is available for rentals year-round. Please contact Waverly Management by email at WaverlyMD@howardcountymd.gov for full availability and off-season pricing information.

What is the current pricing for outdoor rentals on weekends, mid-April through October? (Prices are subject to change.)

  • 8-hour weekend meeting/event rentals:

    • Fridays and Sundays for 8 hours: $3,500

    • Saturdays for 8 hours: $4,000

    • Additional hours (up to 4 hours): $400

    • Security Deposit (refundable): $750

What is the current pricing for outdoor rentals on weekdays, mid-April through October? (Prices are subject to change.)

  • 4-hour Weekday Meetings:

    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 8am and 4pm: $1,600

    • Additional hours: $100/hour (up to 4 hours)

    • Security Deposit (refundable): $750

  • 2-hour Weekday Meetings:

    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays between 8am and 4pm: $330

    • Additional hours: $100/hour (up to 4 hours)

What is the current pricing for indoor-only rentals, November through March, at Historic Waverly Mansion? (Pricing subject to change.)

  • 8-hour weekend rentals:

    • Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays: $3,000

    • Security Deposit (refundable): $750

  • 3-hour weekend rentals:

    • Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays: $1,200

    • Security Deposit (refundable): $500

  • Weekday hourly rental rates:

    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays between 8am and 4pm: $100/hour (3-hour minimum)

    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays between 4pm and 10pm: $150/hour (3-hour minimum)

    • Security Deposit (refundable): 20% of total rental cost

Is Historic Waverly Mansion a full-service venue?

No. Historic Waverly Mansion provides the location and the renters contract vendors and services separately. This includes but is not limited to caterer, event planners, decorators, and photographer.

What is included in an outdoor rental?

All renters are granted exclusive use of the mansion, gardens, and grounds. Only one event will be scheduled for the contracted time. Property amenities include:

  • Mansion and Grounds:

    • Exclusive use of the mansion (accommodates a maximum of 50 people), including two dressing suites on the second floor.

    • Free Wi-Fi available in the mansion.

    • Formal garden and historic barn.

    • Brick pathway that extends from the gardens and front entrance to the parking area.

    • Free parking in gravel lot.

    • Restroom trailer with ADA-accessible stalls.

    • Catering prep space in mansion kitchen.

  • Warming Kitchen:

    • Commercial refrigerator and freezer

    • Commercial warming cabinet

    • Prep tables in kitchen

  • Restroom Trailer (optional):

    • Electricity

    • Running water

    • Climate control

    • 2 single-person stalls

    • 1 ADA-accessible stall with ramp

  • Tables and Chairs (optional):

    • (10) 6-foot rectangular tables

    • (15) 5-foot round tables

    • (2) 3-foot round tables

    • (8) 2-foot round cocktail tables

    • 125 gold Chiavari chairs with white cushions.

What is included in an indoor rental?

​Does Historic Waverly Mansion require insurance for rentals?

Yes. Waverly Management will provide the renter with information on the "tenant user liability insurance program" through GatherGuard. The average cost is around $200 to purchase but is subject to individual event details.

​

Is AV equipment included in the rental price?

  • No. Historic Waverly Mansion does not provide AV equipment (projectors, screens, speakers, computers, etc.). The renter must provide that equipment.

  • AV equipment can be used indoors and under the event tent.

​

Where do guests park?

  • Historic Waverly Mansion provides free on-site parking for all rentals. Guests may park in the gravel lot.

  • On-site parking is very limited. Carpooling, use of car services (Uber, Lyft), and shuttles are strongly encouraged. ​The permit holder is responsible for any shuttle services for guests. All shuttles must be approved by Waverly Management.

Is there a discounted rental price for non-profits?

Can I visit Historic Waverly Mansion before booking a rental?

  • Historic Waverly Mansion is not open to the public, aside from scheduled rentals and special events. Tours are given by appointment during normal business hours.
